Peder Bonnier and Marcus Uggla Krook

After eight years as CEO, Peder Bonnier is handing over the role to Marcus Uggla Krook as Storykit enters a new phase. The company is moving from selling content production software to delivering ongoing communications services. Peder will remain on the board, focusing on business development.

Marcus Uggla Krook will become CEO of Storykit on November 2. He joins from Qred Bank, where he led product and revenue, and previously held roles at Klarna and Compadre and served as CEO of Dagens PS.

Founded in 2018 by Peder Bonnier and Fredrik Strömberg, Storykit has helped more than 1,000 companies create videos using its proprietary platform for high-volume, brand-safe production. The company is now expanding beyond software to take a more active role in its customers' communications.

By combining its proprietary technology with a team of experts and strategists, Storykit brings together the best of both worlds: the strategic and creative expertise of an agency with the efficiency and scalability of a technology company.

“We built Storykit to solve a major problem in communications: producing content at scale was expensive and time-consuming. And we succeeded. But we also realised that many customers still lacked the time and expertise to take full advantage of what was possible. We'd solved production, but left much of the work to the customer. Now we're taking responsibility for getting the job done,” says Peder Bonnier.

“We built Storykit to solve one of the communications industry's biggest problems: producing content at scale was too expensive and time-consuming. And we succeeded. But we also realised that many customers still lacked the time and expertise to take full advantage of what was possible. We had solved the production problem, but left much of the work to the customer. Now we're taking responsibility for actually getting the job done,” says Peder Bonnier.

At the same time, AI is fundamentally changing the communications industry.

“When anyone can produce almost unlimited amounts of content, production itself becomes less valuable. What really matters is understanding what to say, to whom, and why. The future of communications isn't about more AI tools. It's about combining technology with human expertise, judgement and accountability. We sell communications that work, not logins,” says Peder Bonnier.

New CEO to Lead the Next Phase

Marcus Uggla Krook will now be responsible for leading Storykit's operations and scaling its new business model.

“Storykit has something very few companies have:a proven, proprietary technology platform and people who truly understand communications. Together, they give us the foundation to build a new kind of communications company, combining strategic and creative quality with the efficiency of technology. I see huge potential to scale this model in Sweden and internationally,” says Marcus Uggla Krook.

Peder Bonnier will remain on Storykit's board focusing on expanding into other areas of communications, including identifying and developing complementary businesses.

“This model has potential well beyond Storykit. Across the communications industry, companies spend significant resources on repetitive work that AI could transform. My focus now is to bring this model to more areas of communications,” says Peder Bonnier.

Bonnier sees the leadership transition as a natural next step for Storykit.

“Marcus brings exactly the mix of product expertise, commercial experience and leadership Storykit needs for its next phase. I'm delighted to hand over the CEO role to him while continuing to build on what we've created,” says Peder Bonnier.
