News & Corporate Videos
Starting your video with a quote is often a good idea. Starting your video with a boss quote is even better! It’s a great format, not just for information but also for marketing a few key players in the organisation.
Check it out!
This format is quite similar to the “First Reaction” format, but all sources you will use are internal. You want the higher-ups, stakeholders, and key players to give the quotes, and use it for information and releases, but also for marketing a few key players in the organisation.
This is a step-by-step guide on how you use this template to write your year in review video script.

You'll need two assets here: a headshot of the intterviewee, and an image or clip that reflects the subject.
Here you need to reach out to the stake holders or managers and ask them to give you a good quote. Then your pretty much done.
Do a “quote headline” here where you pick up the best part of a quote to create an enticing headline. Since this is an internal quote, you can have some freedom in editing the quote for the title but make sure it gets the gist of the quote. Don’t be afraid to use superlatives, we are all here for the big words!
Examples:
“I’m so proud of [X]”
“[Y] is the best we’ve ever done,”
“Honestly, even I’m surprised by how good [Z] is”
This quote should be very much “from the release” and in line with your talking points. So you could lift these quotes straight from a press release or blog post. You have alluded to the subject in the title so you can dive deeper into the personal quote here. Use a subtitle that includes “[Name Surname], [Title], on [Topic]” to ensure that you’re not missing the opportunity to remind the viewer at every stage what this is about.
Do a short follow-up on what the “Topic” is here to ensure that the viewer is not leaving the video without getting what the key person was talking about. This can, and probably should, refer to more reading/viewing on the matter but should also be relatively stand-alone. You want to use an image/video clip that reflects the subject and let that run over the outro.
Include a standard message or let the viewer know where they can get more information if relevant. Otherwise just finish with your logo.
There is a lot more templates here for you. Take a look around and find one that suits you. Or you can find all the templates in Storykit.
