About this template

A format that allows you to address a major industry question that is unresolved by providing your audience with insights from a number of different external actors.

How to get started

This is a step-by-step guide on how you use this template to write your year in review video script.

Find your story

You can do this with your colleauges, but even better: ask people who are outside of your organisation. Bringing in external opinions on a topic is a great way to create unique content.

Find your assets

Use photos or video clips of the people you talk to throughout the video.

Produce it

Aask a variety of people to answer the same question and then put it all together as a longer piece covering a particular topic. Collect the answers and images/videos via email. Use a Google form if you want to make it easier to access all the answers from one place. Make sure to ask for their details to use in the quote attribution. Plan ahead and phrase the question to your interviewee in exactly the same way you phrase it in the headline of the video.

The Situation Question Headline

Craft a headline that contains both the question and contextualises the situation you’re addressing.

Examples:

“With [Topic] increasing– how do Industry players stay competitive?”

“Can you reach the desired audience on social if you are a traditional Industry player?”

“Everyone’s going digital – should Industry players as well?”.

Invite Quote

Make sure to let the interviewee know what length you would like their answer to be – that way, you can avoid editing too much and get as raw a take as you can. Make sure to include their details in the quote attribution - including their background or position will help the viewer interpret their answer.

Outro
