About this template

This is a great template for talking about organisational goals – not business goals – CSR, diversity, or other metrics connected to values or beliefs. You want to be transparent on these issues, and holding yourself accountable by communicating them creates more authenticity.

How to get started

This is a step-by-step guide on how you use this template to write your year in review video script.

Find your story

Speak to the leaders in your organisation and ask about what they are doing on these fronts. An ongoing or recently completed project is ideal to lift here.

Find your assets

A selection of relevant stock or company images/video clips.

Produce it

Source the information from the people involved, and describe the goal and progress that has been made.

Create your video script

Promise Headline

Craft a question-based headline that concentrates on the goal in focus. This way, you can talk about what you’re doing and hold yourself accountable right from the start.

Example:

“We said that we would reach our Goal by 2022 – how are we doing on that?”

Promise Headline

The Goal

Elaborate on the goal that you have – and why you think it’s essential. Give the viewer the necessary amount of background info on the issue.

The Goal

Progress Question

Pivot the script by getting back to the question of progress, and be very direct in your formulation.

Example:

“Yes, that sounds really good – but is it working?”

“OK, great idea – how are you doing with it?”.

Progress Question

Progress Update

Now focus on the results. And don’t sugarcoat anything, be very transparent. Write a straightforward answer, and if the progress deviates from the goal, mention why, but don’t deflect.

Progress Update

Outro

Include a standard message for the outro, if needed. Leave empty if you just want to use your logo.
