About this template

Create this video based on the answers to a single-question survey. The subject can be light-hearted and fun, but you can also be tactical and pose a question on something that everyone needs to be aware of.

How to get started

This is a step-by-step guide on how you use this template to write your year in review video script.

Find your story

Any important internal information can be communicated and reinforced by asking a survey question on the topic. Alternatively, look for something fun like what the favourite lunch restaurants are around the office.

Find your assets

Use a stock image that reflects the topic of the survey for the headline and outro, plus a portrait of each person whose answer you use. Good photos make all the difference here, so check out this guide to doing that in the simplest way.

Produce it

Set up a Google form with the same question you’ll use in the headline and send it to your colleagues to answer. Make sure to collect their name and role with their answer, and request a portrait image or video, or ask them to come to you for help.

The Question

Start with the question. You don’t have to contextualise it any further. But make sure it’s a question that allows for a more detailed answer. You want to use the answers from your respondents with minimal edits but a “yes” or “no” does not make for very interesting content!

The Question

The Answers

Present one answer at a time with the image of the person as a background to their quote. Remember to attribute the answer with their name, title and department.

Outro

Include a standard message for the outro, if needed. Or just use a simple logo ending.
