About this template

Use this template to highlight your events, perks or activities and show employees and prospects that this is a great place to work. What makes it so effective is the news report format. Instead of just listing company benefits or describing the culture - you can show them!

How to get started

This is a step-by-step guide on how you use this template to write your year in review video script.

Find your story

Do you have a company football team playing a match, a holiday party or something more serious like a charity your company supports to talk about? These are great ways to tell a story about your company culture and benefits.

Find your assets

Choose an image or video that captures the mood you want to convey. This is where an activity image library will come in handy - if you don’t have one, why not start one now?

Produce it

If you’re doing this based on something that’s already happened, reach out to people involved to get images, videos, and answers to questions that will help you write each part of the script. Once you have this, formulate a succinct report-style description for each part of the template below.

Create your video script

Heading

Start with a heading that’s straight to the point. Make sure to include the activity and a reference to the group.

Examples:

“The company that does [Activity] together”

“The day we went parasailing”

Heading

Provide Context

Provide some context by mentioning the time and/or place, the activity you're showcasing and/ or your motivation for doing it.

Example:

“Early on the morning of August 2nd, we set out to experience something new as a team… parasailing from a height of 150m! ”

Provide Context

In-Depth Description

In relatively free form, this is where you tell the story about the activity and what happened. Feel free to add details, but always keep the text as short and to the point as possible. You could describe what you did and how people reacted.

Example:

“We drove up to the mountain jump point. The mood started off with a lot of excitement and nervous chatter. Nearing the top, we became quieter, listening carefully to the instructions from our guide.”

In-Depth Description

Why We Do It

Briefly describe why these activities are an important part of the culture from the organisation's perspective. This is a commitment to your audience that you are focused on the well-being of your team.

Example:

"We make time for activities that challenge us, help us connect or relax as a team. It's our way to say thank you for the great work people put in"
