About this template

This format will help you showcase “the best and the brightest” from your organisation, talking about the organisation’s POV.

How to get started

This is a step-by-step guide on how you use this template to write your year in review video script.

Find your story

Consider current events, trends or ideas that will captivate your audience. You could take a stand for or against it or add a new perspective. Choose someone with an interesting or informed opinion, not just C-Level execs. If you’re looking for high-level commentary, speak to someone with a strategic role. If you want actionable takeaways, find someone who works more operationally.

Find your assets

Choose stock images/video clips relevant to the issue you are discussing and a picture of the person you interview.

Produce it

Email the person with a few questions and ask them to send you a photo of themselves or sit with them and take a high-quality video while they answer.

The Straight Premise

Introduce the topic you’ll be commenting on, but don’t give away your take yet. Be bold and to the point in communicating what the issue is.

Clarifying Question

Write a provocative question that primes the viewer for the quote you’ll be giving next.

Clarifying Question

Addressing Answer

Start by directly addressing the question in the form of a quote from the person. Make their perspective on the topic clear. Add some detail - do they agree or not? Why? What is their/the company’s approach when it comes to this topic. Provide additional details about the person that show why their perspective is relevant.
