About this template

A great format for sharing a roundup of the headlines, events or important updates associated with an industry or sector your audience is interested in. This is a fairly low-effort way to create value for your audience by curating and sharing useful information.

How to get started

This is a step-by-step guide on how you use this template to write your year in review video script.

Find your story

Search Google for news on a particular topic, digital publications, research digests, podcasts… look anywhere you can find good content.

Find your assets

Use a relevant industry stock image/video clip for the headline and include new media for each of the items in your lineup.

Produce it

Find your topics and then write a descriptive headline and a short summary of each one.

This Week In - Headline

Since this format lends itself to repetition – it’s something you can and should do at a particular cadence. If so, create a teaser headline that’s specific to this week, and use a subtitle to highlight what time period the roundup is from.

Examples:

"This Week In [Topic]”

“Takeaways From The World Of [Subject].”

“Week 42: New [X] records, a surprising CEO return, and exciting [Y] news”.

Weekly Item

For each item in your roundup create a short headline and then write a concise summary of the main point or takeaways. Make sure you also make a correct source attribution in the text -not giving credit where it’s due will undo all the value you create by curating this roundup.

Outro

Include a standard message for the outro, if needed, or just use a standard brand outro graphic or your logo.
