About this template

Use this format to choose a single goal to remind people about and provide insight into what it's about. By highlighting one goal per video you make it much easier for the audience to consume and remember the information.

How to get started

This is a step-by-step guide on how you use this template to write your year in review video script.

Find your story

These are the goals that come from your business or operational strategy - so you should probably speak to the CEO, COO, or departmental heads (or similar) to find out more.

Find your assets

Use stock images/video clips that reflect what is being said in the video at different points.

Produce it

Create a headline that identifies the goal you want to talk about, and then discuss the what, why and how related to it.

Start very simple – state the goal in the headline in a way that doesn’t sound too challenging or formal. The more detailed the goal is, or quantifiable, the better. 


“We say that we want to reach [Goal]…” 

“[Goal] is something we want to achieve – why is that?”

“Getting to [Goal] is important for us – this is why”

Elaborate on the goal by touching on the underlying reasons why it matters to the organisation.

Talk about what the goal means to your organisation, like how it affects operations and decisions. Don’t get too far into the details – stick to the overarching outcomes that are a result of working on this goal.

How Are We Doing?

If possible, give a real update on the progress towards this goal. If there is nothing relevant to share yet, then explain that. But if you have something to share, you should. The best argument for the goal being relevant is that things are moving in the right direction. Relevant goals are easier for people to get behind.

Include a standard message for the outro, if needed. Or just use a simple logo ending.
