91% of businesses use video as a marketing tool in 2024 (Wyzowl). We are certainly not impartial, but there is plenty of proof showing that video is the number one type of content in social media marketing.
For instance:
Therefore, it’s time to start making loads of videos!
So, how do you get started with video marketing? Here are 5 video marketing tips to help you become a video superstar today!
At Storykit, we often meet organizations that struggle with what stories to tell. But we know that all companies have lots of interesting stories to tell – you just need to know where to look. Here are 6 good places to find your brand stories!
No brand has ever grown on social media by posting every once in a while. You must update all the time, and you must be relevant – and frequent. Why? Well, because the platforms decide which content is prioritized and visible.
Likes and comments look great on paper, but it’s important to remember that these measurements don’t help you to reach your goals or to make informed decisions for future strategies. But what should you look at if you shouldn’t look at likes and comments? Let’s find out!
One mistake many people make is that they view each video as a single occurrence. Remember: your video can be used in lots of different ways. Reusing and optimizing your video for different channels, audiences and markets is incredibly easy if you make them in Storykit. Change your background assets, the words or tonality, and voilà! Now you have even more versions.
At Storykit we always say: the worst piece of content is the content never made. Social channels are so fast moving and your audience is elusive, so the most important thing for success will always be to keep up when things change. The motto really is “learning by doing”. So start experimenting, learn from your mistakes and have fun!
And remember, Storykit is with you all the way. Happy video year!

If you make videos the old way, where each video is filmed and then edited in complicated programs – you probably don’t have the resources to make lots of versions of your video. If you make video the new way, for example in – yes, you know – Storykit, then video production becomes incredibly simple.
You probably already know that different aspect ratios work better on different channels, for example:
• Youtube: 16x9
• LinkedIn: 1x1
• Stories: 9:16
So when you have made your video, publish it in different video sizes for social media.
This is not just about which aspect ratio you choose: you might want different tonality or images depending on which platform you publish on. Duplicate your video and make the changes, and voilà! Now you have even more versions.
You probably have several target audiences, and they will surely be more attracted to your videos if you make some small adjustments. For example, maybe you want to adapt the imagery depending on the age the of your target groups? It’s simple to make several versions!
Do you have audiences in different markets and different languages? If so, it’s super easy to simply duplicate the video and get it translated! This is what the industrial giant SKF does for its 130 markets in Storykit.
– I make videos here at the head office, send them out to the local offices and say "go translate", says Sarah Larsson Bernhardt, previously Global Social Media Manager at SKF.
A classic productivity tip is to reuse old material, and of course, this also applies to video. Republish old stuff with new text. Or, even better, make a copy of the old video and freshen it up with some new pictures or a new introduction. Suddenly, you have even more videos!

Every video creator sometimes spend far too much time looking for the right images and clips for their videos. At worst, you also spend way too much money on buying assets from photo agencies. A superb trick to saving both time and money while still standing out, is to build your own stock library.
Of course, many larger companies have in-house photographers who are already working on creating good image and video content, but if your company doesn’t use in-house photographers, you can still create your own stock library without breaking the bank.
If you don’t have the resources to hire a photographer, ask a colleague interested in photography to bring their camera on a sunny day to take photos! The pictures and clips will probably be much more fun to work with than generic images from an image bank.
No matter what alternative you choose, try to capture:
